Face Value

A famous face hides under nine paper scraps — one is already torn open. Tear more scraps to reveal more of the picture; you can only tear a scrap that touches one already open, so plan your route. Each round starts at 100 points: every tear costs 10, a wrong guess costs 15, and the two clue slips cost 15–25 each. Two correct answers in a row earn a +10 bonus. A correct guess always pays at least 10, however much you've spent finding it. Stuck? "3 choices" narrows the answer to three names for 80 points — it keeps a streak alive but never extends it, and the button always shows what the round will still be worth if you take it.

Lifeline

Each round shows where a historical figure was born and where they died, with the years. Type their name — spelling doesn't need to be perfect. An unaided answer scores 100 (a correct one always pays at least 10); clue slips cost 15–25 and a wrong guess costs 15. Stuck? "3 choices" works exactly as it does in Face Value. Two correct answers in a row earn a +10 bonus.

Relic

The same as Face Value, but the picture is a famous artefact, building or artwork instead of a face.

Thread

Sixteen clues secretly belong to four groups of four. Tap four you think belong together, then submit. A solved board scores 100; each wrong group costs 20, down to a floor of 20. Four wrong guesses and the thread snaps — the answer groups are revealed.

Your day

Every game keeps its own streak: finishing any one of the four keeps that game's streak alive. Finishing all four in a day is a full house — the rare, celebrated result, never the baseline. A lost round still closes out the day; there's always tomorrow.

The Archive

Missed a day? Every game's row on the home screen scrolls sideways: today's card first, then the last six days behind it, each showing how you did. Tap one to play that day — it counts and it's recorded, exactly like any other daily. Days older than that roll off so they can resurface later without feeling stale, and a finished day opens your result with the answers, rather than replaying.

Catching up does not bring a dead streak back to life: a day only counts towards a streak if you finish it within two days of it appearing.

Encore

After a daily result, "Encore" takes you straight to the most recent day you haven't played yet in that same game. Once you've played every day the Archive is holding, the button goes away.
