Four small games, every day

Yesternerd is four little history games: Face Value (guess a face from a torn photo), Lifeline (guess a figure from where they were born and died), Relic (guess an artefact from a torn photo) and Thread (a Connections-style grouping game). A new set opens at midnight — the same games for everyone, no matter when you show up.

There's no build-up, no account, no ads, and nothing to buy. It's designed to take a few minutes, not an evening.

Who makes it

Yesternerd is written and maintained by one person, working sessions with an AI coding assistant. Facts, images and puzzle design are checked by hand before anything is scheduled — see Sources for the image credits and Corrections for the record of fixes.

Why it exists

Most daily puzzle games ask for five minutes once a day and reward showing up, not grinding. Yesternerd tries to do that for history: a genuinely interesting fact or image every time, not padding.

Changing phone, browser or address

Your streak is stored in this browser and nowhere else — there's no account, so there's nothing on a server to log back into. That's good for privacy and awkward on moving day, so there's a tool for it: open Your Legacy from the bottom of the home screen and tap Moving house? at the foot of the page. It hands you a link and a code; open either on the new browser or the newly installed app and your record follows you. Nothing is overwritten — the two records are merged and the better one wins.
